FAYETTEVILLE PATTERN ZONE

Together with Pattern Zones Co, Blockwright led a team focused on creating the largest set of pre-approved buildings for a single municipality in the country, with over 30 plans licensed for use in the Downtown and Walker Park neighborhoods of Fayetteville Arkansas.

The team was proud to incorporate the work of local architects as well as nationally respected design firms. Local residents and builders will also benefit from a first of its kind web-based portal, which will make the process of finding and selecting from the large catalogue a seamless experience. This work is supported by the team’s innovative approach to public engagement, which included a hands-on exercise with 3D printed models of the catalogue buildings.

While Blockwright’s project responsibilities were initially to produce site diagrams and curate the set of buildings from a design perspective, the scope grew considerably during the project due to a major change in city policy coming half way through the project. As a result of the change, Blockwright will also be acting as Architect of Record for all of the buildings in the catalogue.

In addition to being the largest and most diverse catalogue of pre-approved buildings in the country, Fayetteville’s catalogue will also be the only one we’re aware of to feature signed and sealed Construction Documents from an Architect of Record.
